At RiverStyx Beaucerons, every litter is carefully planned with the intention of preserving the breed’s integrity, temperament, and versatility. Our puppies are thoughtfully raised in our home, where they receive round-the-clock care, early training, and enrichment to prepare them for successful lives in companion, sport, or working homes.
The journey to bringing home a RiverStyx puppy begins with our online application. Once we receive your completed form, we’ll reach out to schedule a phone consultation to ensure we’re a good fit for one another. This gives us a chance to answer your questions and better understand your lifestyle, goals, and preferences.
Puppies are matched with their new families between 8–10 weeks of age based on temperament, drive, energy level, and family dynamics—not on a first-come, first-serve basis. While we welcome preferences for color or gender, our top priority is placing each puppy where they will thrive long-term. If your ideal match isn’t in the current litter, your deposit can be rolled over to the next planned breeding.
A $500 non-refundable deposit and signed deposit contract are required to reserve a spot on our waitlist. This deposit goes toward the final purchase price. Final payment is due before pick-up or flight arrangements are made.
Puppies go home between 9–10 weeks old after completing their full Puppy Culture curriculum with us. They leave with a solid foundation in crate training, leash exposure, barrier frustration, clicker introduction, and early potty training.
We provide a complete go-home packet, including:
Pickup is available from our home or we can help arrange delivery via a trusted flight nanny (subject to availability). We’re also happy to meet you at our local airport.
All of our breeding dogs are fully health tested and CHIC certified. We guarantee all puppies are free of hip dysplasia and DCM through responsible parent selection.
From the moment they’re born, our puppies are raised hands-on inside our home using Puppy Culture and Avidog protocols. These methods emphasize early neurological stimulation (ENS), scent introduction, confidence-building, and appropriate social exposure.
By 7–8 weeks of age, each puppy undergoes temperament and structure evaluations, including:
This process allows us to match each puppy to the most suitable home and set them up for lifelong success.
All puppies are microchipped and registered with the AKC before going home. We place companion puppies on limited registration with a spay/neuter agreement between 18–24 months of age (not earlier). For performance or show prospects, co-ownership ensures breeding decisions are made responsibly—only after titles and full health testing are complete. We are strong advocates for ovarian-sparing spays and vasectomy neuters where possible.
We are a small, passionate program dedicated to preserving the function and form of the Beauceron. Each breeding is done with purpose—never for volume—with the goal of producing sound, versatile dogs that honor the breed’s working roots and thrive in today’s world.
We show, trial, and train our dogs to demonstrate the temperament and abilities we aim to pass on. Our puppies are raised with love, boundaries, and purpose. Whether they grow into service prospects, sport competitors, or loyal adventure companions, we remain committed to supporting them and their families for life.
We typically maintain a waitlist for upcoming litters, but on rare occasions, a puppy or young dog may become available outside our regular reservation process. Please feel free to reach out and inquire.
