Behind the Name
Hello! I’m Ashtyn—founder, handler, and heart behind RiverStyx Beaucerons. My journey with dogs began nearly a decade ago, but it was seven years ago that I truly found my calling in the world of Beaucerons. Since stepping into the show ring for the first time in 2015, my passion for working dogs, structure, and purposeful companionship has only deepened, shaping every step of this adventure.
As a professional pet groomer, I’ve built a career rooted in compassion, precision, and care—values that naturally extend into my breeding program. When I’m not hands-deep in suds or ring prep, I’m usually wrapped up in a good book, sketching out ideas, capturing moments through my lens, or hiking trails with my dogs by my side.
My path to breeding began alongside my fiancé’s mother, a devoted Belgian Malinois breeder. Assisting with whelpings, raising litters, and witnessing the profound transformation of new life sparked something in me. It was there, in the stillness of the whelping box, that I realized I was exactly where I belonged.
Over the past eight years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning everything I can about ethical, intentional breeding—from hands-on mentorship to intensive study of structure, health, and temperament. RiverStyx Beaucerons was born from this commitment: a vision grounded in quality, driven by purpose, and built to preserve the legacy of a truly remarkable breed.
Each litter is carefully planned to reflect the breed’s heritage—producing dogs who are not only physically sound, but emotionally resilient, versatile, and capable of standing as both steadfast guardians and cherished family companions.
